Posadas

Posadas is a quiet Spanish town on the banks of the Rio Guadalquivir in the Cordoba valley, Rural Inland Spain.

It is in the centre of a vast green agricultural area.The region is famous for growing oranges, peaches, cotton, sweet corn, sunflowers.

The nearest large city is historic Cordoba which is half an hour away and historic Seville is a little over an hour away.

The Spanish motorway system is 20 minutes away.

Posadas has a population of a little over 8000 people. The town has two churches, a senior school, medical centre, banks, bars and restaurants, supermarkets and many small shops.

Several times a year the town stops for Fiesta. This is the time for the ladies to dress up in their traditional dresses and the men to be macho on their horses. There is much dancing into the early hours.
